“Live, then, and be happy ... and never forget, that until the day God will deign to reveal the future to man, all human wisdom is contained in these two words, 'Wait and hope.'"
This Week
Well, it’s been a quiet, normal and relaxing week, hasn’t it. I hope everyone is getting through. If I might, take note: The work was always going to be lengthy and slow. That’s how real work, changing work, salvation work, is. We had work to do before and we have work to do now. Do what you can. Don’t forget, however, to take time to rest, refresh and celebrate.
There is a new episode of Quiet Little Horrors to listen to. We discuss the gold standard of folk horror, 1973’s The Wicker Man. By the way, we’re putting together plans for season two, beginning with 2021, so if you’ve been enjoying the podcast and have suggestions for future films to cover, let us know! hello@quietlittlehorrors.com
While the official scary season is over, my great big list of horror movies is still here for your dark winter urges. I also sent out a more descriptive list of horror documentaries to paid newsletter subscribers.
And, finally, I have a piece of flash fiction in the Halloween issue of Tales from the Moonlit Path: “The Elevator Operator.” I’m also happy to announce that another fiction piece of mine will be appearing in the January issue of Coffin Bell.
Onward, my friends.

Reading/Watching/Listening
So The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix) is just as good as everyone says. It’s stylish, moving, precisely structured and well performed. Watch it already.
Lou will play us out.
Be well.

Jen
