This Week
It’s winter, friends. I hit the winter wall this past week. Traditionally, February is the time for that to happen. I think the winter wall season came a little early thanks to the pandemic and associated inability to go somewhere not home and not terribly cold. But. It could be worse to stay warm inside and watch television shows and play video games, which is largely what I’m doing.
I’ve got some links and some media updates for you. I hope you’re all getting through okay.
Links
The Trump years showed how much suffering America could live with.
Why Pittsburgh needs the Paris Agreement.
Disney’s Jungle Cruise ride (in both Disneyland and WDW) is getting some needed sensitivity updates.
Another (keep ‘em coming) oral history of the making of The Emperor’s New Groove.
Reading/Watching/Listening
I’m currently reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, a previous blind spot in my familiarity with the work of the Sisters Brontë, and I love it. I’ve heard some individuals say before that they like it more than either Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights and, so far, I might be agreeing with that?
Beyond that, I’m rewatching shows and movies with The Teenager, who recently returned home after some time away. So I’ve got nothing else of note this week. Have anything to recommend to me?
Hang in there.
Love,
Jen
